Marriott’s Westin Hotels and Resorts brand (previously part of Starwood prior to the recent merger) has opened a property in Hamburg.

Located in the city’s Speicherstadt warehouse district, the 205-room hotel is housed within the €860m Elbphilharmonie, a new architectural landmark which also contains two state-of-the art concert halls and luxury apartments.

Spread across 21 floors, rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows, walk-in rain showers, 42-inch TVs, a coffee and tea maker, and décor inspired by Hamburg’s maritime history.

Other facilities include an all-day dining restaurant, located within the building’s redbrick base, a bar with waterfront-facing views and the 1,300 sqm Elb spa, which includes a 20m pool, gym and six treatment rooms.

For meetings, the hotel has 630 sqm of event space with rooms ranging from 23 sqm to 469 sqm. There is also a 24-hour business centre and on-site parking.

Commenting on the new opening, global brand leader of Westin Hotels and Resorts Brian Povinelli said:

“The hotel’s commanding riverfront location in the new Hafencity district, coupled with the brand’s distinct wellness-focused amenities and programming, ensures that guests will leave The Westin Hamburg feeling better than when they arrived.”
