A new seven-storey hotel is set to open at Adelaide Airport in late 2018 as part of a recent agreement between the airport and hospitality group, Event Hospitality and Entertainment. The property will offer a direct connection to the airport’s Level 2 domestic and international check-in area via a walkway, and will offer facilities that will be available to all airport users.

Developed under the company’s Atura brand, the new hotel will offer a total of 165 rooms along with a restaurant and bar, a business centre, function and meeting spaces, and a covered entrance for guest drop off and pick up. Atura is the company’s corporate-focused accommodation brand, offering high-tech features and a “living room lobby” concept.

The property is part of a A$2 billion (US$1.52 billion) expansion plan for the airport and is estimated to cost about A$50 million (US$38 million) to develop, as reported by The Advertiser.

The expansion to Adelaide Airport coincides with a growth in its international traffic. Qatar Airways launched a daily service between Doha and Adelaide in May, while China Southern has announced plans to launch a thrice-weekly service between Adelaide and Guangzhou in December, 2016 – the first carrier to operate non-stop flights between the city and the Chinese mainland.
