Movenpick has opened its first hotel in the Moroccan city of Marrakesh, an expanded and renovated property linked to the Palais des Congres.

Previously operated under the Kempinski banner, the Movenpick Hotel Mansour Eddahbi Marrakech has undergone a US$100 million redevelopment and now features 503 rooms, five restaurants, a rooftop bar, a two-floor spa and wellbeing centre, and four swimming pools.

The hotel also features gardens with bougainvillea, palm and olive trees, and an entrance promenade combining water features, elements of nature, wood, fire and copper, and 1,001 recessed candles.

The property is located around 15 minutes’ drive from the city’s international airport, and has direct access to the Palais des Congres Marrakesh, which is also now managed by Movenpick.

The congress centre offers a total of 5,600 sqm of events space, including the 1,700 sqm Royal Ballroom, two auditoriums, 200 meeting rooms and an outdoor events area.

Movenpick already operates two hotels in Morocco – the Movenpick Hotel Casablanca and the Movenpick Hotel and Casino Malabata Tangier.
