Last week, India’s home-grown hospitality group – Sarovar Hotels – opened RS Sarovar Portico in Palampur, a hill station in Himachal Pradesh.

The 42-key, midscale property that has a clear view of the Dhauladhar mountain range is 40km from Kangra Airport and 6km from Palampur railway station.

Room sizes start from 36 sqm. A work desk, iron and ironing board, minibar, free wifi, 24-hour room service, LED television, tea/coffee maker, electronic safe, weighing scale, and a rain shower are available across all room categories. Bathtubs are available in suites.

There are two restaurants and one bar on the property, as well as a banquet hall for 700 people, a conference room for 75 people and a lawn that can hold 100 people. Its gym is due to open shortly.
