Varun Beach Bheemli Resort in Andhra Pradesh’s port city Visakhapatnam, opened to public on Monday. The property is owned by Indian conglomerate Varun Group and is managed by AccorHotels India.

All 28 rooms are 42 sqm large and have private balconies that face the Bay of Bengal. Other facilities include wifi, tea/coffee maker, free mineral water bottles, iron and ironing board and a well sized work desk. 

Jean-Michel Cassé, senior vice president, operations, AccorHotels India describes Varun Beach Bheemli Resort as “a fine example of our lifestyle and boutique hotels adapted to a locale”.

The five acre property overlooking Bheemli beach focuses on catering to the needs of leisure travellers and MICE groups. It has a jogging track, beach volleyball court, night cricket pitch and a children’s park, in addition to a spa, fitness centre and rooftop pool.

Dining options include an all-day restaurant The Square, Infinity the poolside restaurant, Teppanyaki for barbecues and grills, and Water Bar that has a good selection of wines and spirits.

Cassé adds, “India is a priority market for us and one in which we are seeing solid growth momentum. By the end of this year, we expect to have a strong presence with a network of 45 hotels in the country. The state of Andhra Pradesh is integral to our development strategy and we are committed to opening more world class hotels here.”

Varun Beach Bheemli Resort is the second AccorHotels property in Andhra Pradesh after the 225-room Novotel Visakhapatnam. A Novotel convention centre in the state’s Vijayawada district is in the pipeline, dates of which haven’t been announced yet.
