25 Nov 2010 by BusinessTraveller
Asian group Alila Hotels and Resorts is to open its first property in the Indian city of Bangalore early next year. Due to open in February 2011, the “business lifestyle” hotel will be located within the city’s business district, around an hour from the airport, and will feature a mixture of studio rooms, suites, and two Alila Residences for longer stays. For events there will be a Lakeview Ballroom, two additional meeting rooms, a library and complimentary wifi, while leisure facilities include an infinity pool with skyline views of the city, and Spa Alila, offering five treatment rooms, hydrotherapy and aromatherapy baths and a gym. Alila Bangalore will also have three restaurants with choices from all day-dining to surf and turf, as well as High 5 Tapas Bar and Lounge with views of the pool and city. The hotel has been designed by award-winning London-based architects, Allies and Morrison, and will feature commissioned pieces by “renowned local bronze sculptor Dimpy Menon” in the rooms and public areas. Alila Bangalore will join Alila Diwa Goa as the second property by the brand in India, with other hotels by the group in Indonesia, Laos, Thailand and the Maldives.
