Starboard Hotels launches £50 million development programme

29 Jun 2008 by BusinessTraveller
Hotel developer Starboard Hotels will open its first Holiday Inn Express in Burnley this September, with three more UK hotels to follow over the next two years. The £7 million Holiday Inn Express Burnley is located off junction 10 of the M65, close to Burnley town centre and around 30 minutes’ drive from Manchester city centre. Features include 102 bedrooms, four air-conditioned meeting rooms, a bar and a café-style restaurant. The hotel is the first of four developments by Starboard, with the next being a 126-room Days Inn property located by Wetherby racecourse and due to open in February 2009. Two more Holiday Inn Express hotels are slated for Edgbaston Mill (a mixed-use development in Birmingham) and Gateshead (adjacent to the city’s Millennium Bridge) in 2010. Starboard says it is working with Intercontinental Hotel Group, Wyndham Worldwide and Hilton Hotels Corporation to develop a range of branded hotel developments across the UK.
